The Making Of Ooh La La Fruit Teas

Initially, John Eriguel and Lyka Garcia wanted to put up a coffee shop but soon realized the difficulty of maintaining the consistency of coffee-based drinks since the smallest variance in coffee beans could easily cause an overwhelming difference in the taste. They soon saw the potential of a thriving market for premium fruit teas in the country.

Instead of Taiwanese milk teas that already dominate the market, they sought out fruit extracts from New Zealand, a country long known for their rich and healthy produce. The raw ingredients are cold-pressed to make sure the nutrients and flavors are extracted well from every fruit, unlike common extractors that use heat which, consequently, evaporates most. This method makes their drinks healthy, tasty, and refreshing—mapapa-ooh la la ka sa sarap!

Healthy Thirst Quenchers

Ooh La La Fruit Teas offers a wide selection of healthy fruit beverages, which varies from fresh fruit juices to tasty teas and milk teas. They offer drinks with a mix of fruits like lychees, grapes, lemons, oranges, apples, strawberries, and blueberries, among others.

The Lychee with Nata De Coco fruit juice is their best-seller and definitely a must-try. It has a citrusy, sweet taste. The Bermuda Berry, a mix of strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, and boysenberry, is also a crowd favorite. It is the product closest to the owners’ hearts as it helped them secure over 95% of their franchisees as of October 2020.

It was also the first recipe Eriguel and Garcia came up with after countless experiments. “When we first took a sip, we weren’t afraid to start the business because we knew we had discovered something special,” as they recall.
