Filipinos never run out of brilliant ideas, especially when it involves food. Sikat and patok, two foreign cuisines— Korean and Japanese— became the talk of the town amid the quarantine period. As more people enjoy the best of these two cultures, a unique dish became a product of a culinary experiment at home.

How Did It Start?
In June 2020, the owner of Kimchi Bake PH thought of combining two of today's favorite snacks— sushi and kimchi. With her bought ingredients, she transformed into "Professor X," only that she's experimenting in the kitchen and not in the laboratory. Supported by her family, she opened her shop, offering her customers a home-made dish.

Sushi and Kimchi, A Perfect Combo
Hopping in on the latest trend with a twist, Kimchi Bake PH puts a Korean touch to its version of baked sushi. Instead of using plain sticky rice for the base, they added kimchi to make it more flavorful and unique.

But just like the typical baked sushi, this savory kimchi bake can also be eaten with nori. A spoonful—or a handful—is not enough to fully experience its uniqueness that you'll even crave for more.
