So What’s the Story?

Kaona Poké Bowls is owned by Mark, an airline pilot and musician, and his wife Ace, who is a flight attendant. It all started with Ace’s, obsession with poké bowls. Every time she flies to Honolulu for work, getting the traditional Hawaiian dish is on the top of her list. She has been looking for a shop in Manila with the most authentic-tasting poké. While she found some good ones, nothing still comes close to the original.

Because of her intense cravings, they decided to learn and make their own poké bowl. Their friends and family became their taste testers. After a few attempts and revisions, they finally perfected the recipe.

Ono Grinds: Must Try’s

Mark and Ace take pride in only using the finest ingredients in their poké bowls. The couple even made their signature flavor, the Spicy California Poké, which is topped with special kani crab salad. Of course, they didn’t forget to include Hawaii’s well-known Shoyu Onion Poké on their menu. Due to popular demand, they also added Shoyu Kāmano Poké and Creamy Garlic Kāmano Poké. They are grateful and humbled that their poké bowls are now loved by many in their community.
