Many prefer cookies as their go-to snack and some even serve it during special events. It’s one of those foods that you can eat every day without getting tired of them. You can make them for your family, give them to your friends as gifts, or even make a living out of them.

What started as a hobby for Joyce Soriano is now a source of income. Keep on reading to learn more about her growing business, Cookiejoys.
Hobby Turned Business
Baking became one of Joyce’s hobbies when her husband gave her a new oven last year. She shared her freshly baked treats with her friends, relatives, and co-parents in her son’s school. Her son would also have them as snacks almost every day and she usually sends him a lot because his friends keep asking for them.

In 2019, Joyce asked for a sign if she should start a business or not. She told herself that if in that Christmas season she could sell at least 1,000 cookies, she will formally introduce Cookiejoys to the public. And so 2020 came, and around February, she launched Cookiejoys on Instagram and Facebook.
Inspired by Someone Special
Joyce described opening her own business as an overwhelming experience because people she’s not related to nor acquainted with are loving her products and leaving good reviews.

She didn’t expect that she will be baking thousands of cookies in just a week. It was also a challenge since she is without an assistant, a mom of three, and also working as a sales manager. However, she’s thankful because Cookiejoys hit four thousand likes on Facebook after just five months.

According to its owner, baking keeps her sane and that’s what makes Cookiejoys special. It’s her passion and grit. She finds joy in baking because her treats make her customers happy and nothing beats the feeling of seeing them satisfied.

Her future goals include making her small business bigger and passing it on to her third child who has down syndrome. Joyce shared how excited she is to start baking with her daughter.

Moreover, s’mores cookies are Cookiejoys’ bestsellers. If you prefer something sweet and nutty, you’ll enjoy their cranberry almond cookies. Those who are more adventurous should try the crazy cookie. The day this cookie flavor was invented, Joyce wasn't planning on baking her three kids were so wild playing and fooling around that she decided to go to her kitchen. She then began thinking of new cookie flavors, hence "crazy" cookies were born. Another flavor close to her heart is the Nutella cookie because it was her son's favorite snack in school.
