We can never deny that Filipinos are certified food lovers. We feel the happiest whenever we’re full. We easily warm up to delicious international food—whether unconventional or traditional—and slowly get our palates accustomed to their foreign tastes.

From delicious chicken satay to savory beef mandi, discover how Chitay whips up these foreign dishes like no other for a nation full of people with big appetites.
How It Started: Family’s Favorites

Encouraged by good friends, Chitay opened its doors to the public in June 2020 amid a global pandemic, wanting to share with other people their family’s favorite dishes. At first, they only serve authentic chicken satay until they introduced more dishes nostalgic to the family.
What’s #OnTheGList?

Chitay’s best-seller dish is their authentic Chicken Satay. It is a perfectly grilled, marinated chicken in satay sauce. Tracing back its history, satay is known to have originated in Southeast Asia and was first created by Javanese street vendors as an adaptation to Arab’s kebab, which is skewered meat.

The owners of Chitay are Filipinos born and raised in Saudi Arabia. Since they grew up in the Middle Eastern country, they also offer spiced rice dishes like Chicken Kabsa and Beef Mandi.

Chicken kabsa is a mouthwatering mixed rice dish topped with well-seasoned chicken, while beef mandi is savory saffron-spiced rice served with smoked beef on top. For dessert, Chitay serves Chinese pastry Buchi in different flavors—monggo, langka, peach mango, and turon.
