The quarantine period gave birth to numerous food trends, including ube pandesal. What if we told you, there are more options than this popular flavor? Thanks to a growing online business, you can make different pandesal flavors part of your everyday breakfast, snack, or even dessert.

From chocolate to blueberry and mango pandesal, Big Boy’s Breadery has them all.
From Finding to Making the Perfect Bread
We all have personal preferences when it comes to food. Big Boy’s Breadery started from the boredom of two law school friends and their love for different kinds of local bread. Because of the ongoing community quarantine, they had to work within the comforts of their homes.

Both friends were used to work at a pool of cases and the work-from-home setup saved them plenty of time to try various kinds of bread from different online shops. However, none of the ones they’ve tried met their expectations. Another factor that made it difficult for them to find the ideal bread is that they are both picky eaters.

To avoid further disappointment, they have decided to make their own bread. During the general community quarantine (GCQ) they started selling their take on flavored pandesals and ensaymadas. It was a good thing that one of them has a family business of a local panaderia or bakery. Because of this, they also know what kind of bread tickles the tastebuds of their locals.
Empowering PWDs
While Big Boy’s Breadery didn't expect the shop to instantly boom because it was their first time to do business, their shop still attracted a lot of buyers.

What makes their business more special is that most of their talented bakers are persons-with-disabilities or PWDs. It is the goal of the owners to break the stigma against the employment of PWDs because many fear that their disabilities might hinder production.

Since there is already plenty of ube pandesal online, they decided to take a risk by introducing their Cacao Pandesals. This chocolate-filled bread actually got more orders than their Ube-Cheese Pandesal. Thanks to this new pandesal flavor, they were able to stand out and establish their foundation in the online community.

Moreover, there are two ways you can enjoy the Cacao Pandesals. You can either reheat them for that gooey filling or eat them at room temperature if you prefer a chunky filling.

Besides cacao and ube, they also offer other flavors of pandesal like mango, strawberry, and blueberry. For orders, you can message them on Facebook or Instagram @bbbreadery.
