There are two types of people when it comes to inuman or drinking—those who get drunk and those who get full. If you’re the latter, then you probably love pulutan more than the drinks themselves. Pulutan is the food you devour with beer and other alcoholic beverages.
Here are some of the most popular Filipino pulutan.
Sisig

Usually made from finely chopped and fried maskara or pig’s face, sisig is the perfect partner to your cold and fizzy beer. Sometimes, it even comes with chilis and onions for that extra kick. It’s not only ideal as pulutan but also a viand. Today, various versions of sisig are available, such as chicken, tuna, and tofu.
Kropek

Add some crunch to your get-togethers with some kropek or fried prawn-flavored crackers. The usual ingredients of this finger food are starch or tapioca flour. Kropek tastes even better when dipped in some spicy vinegar.
Crispy Pata

Fried to perfection, crispy pata is a part of various Filipino celebrations. You can typically see it during birthdays, Christmas, and even New Year. Like with lechon, everyone is fighting over its crispy skin.
Tokwa’t Baboy

Made with tofu and pork, tokwa’t baboy can be eaten as a main dish or appetizer. You can either use pig's face or fatty parts for this dish. Its dressing is a mix of broth, vinegar, soy sauce, salt, pepper, sugar, peppers, and shallots.
Papaitan

Considered as an exotic food by foreigners, papaitan is a known Ilocano dish. It’s a mix of goat or cow innards. What makes this dish special is the bile, a bitter liquid from animal liver. It's also what gives the soup its yellow color and sour, bitter taste.
