Milk tea or bubble tea has taken the world by storm. Up until this day, the boba drink remains Filipinos’ #1 favorite thirst quencher. Some even fly to Taiwan, where the drink was originated, just to get an authentic experience of the addicting beverage.

Just as when you thought milk tea is already enough, wait until you see these milk tea-flavored food items. We listed them down for you.

Have you ever heard of a bubble tea hot pot? Instead of a soup, sweet and creamy milk tea is used as the base for the hot pot. In some restos, they serve it with meat, fruits, and veggies, while others add sweet snacks to the broth. There is also a version of bubble tea hot pot that resembles the Filipino snack ginataang bilo-bilo.

Cheesecake

Can’t get enough of bubble tea? How about a milk tea cheesecake? This sweet treat has a creamy cheesecake base with tapioca pearls on top and drizzled with brown sugar syrup. It is a heavenly dessert even non-milk tea lovers can hardly resist.

Pizza

Just like bubble tea, pizza is also all-time favorite comfort food. This new creation is made from sweetened condensed milk as sauce, mozzarella and cream cheese, and boba pearls on top instead of the usual meat and veggies. If you’re up for an exciting twist, then bubble tea pizza is a must for you.

There are two versions of boba sushi. The first version follows the traditional way of sushi-making but adds tapioca pearls on top. The tapioca pearls, however, do not add much flavor to the dish as it still bears its original savory taste. In the second version, the pearls are added to the sticky rice and wrapped with a seaweed sheet.
